After the result

Photocopy, revaluation and supplementary exams

If a mark looks wrong, you can see your answer book and ask for it to be checked again. Here is how the process usually runs, and the rules that catch students out.

The usual order

Five stages from result to revised marks

Exact steps can vary by session. The circular that comes with your result is the rulebook to follow.

  1. 01

    Result declared

The clock starts. Read the circular published with the result for exact dates and fees.

  2. 02

    Apply for a photocopy

Choose the theory papers you want to see and pay the fee within the window, often around a week.

  3. 03

    Receive the copy

Go through each answer and the marks given. Compare with your own notes and the question paper.

  4. 04

    Verification or revaluation

Apply for re-totalling, a fresh assessment, or both, for each subject you want reviewed.

  5. 05

    Revised result

MUHS publishes the outcome. If marks change, an updated result follows through your college.

Photocopy of answer book

A copy of your evaluated theory answer book, so you can see how each question was marked. It is usually the first step before asking for a review.

  • Apply online in the window announced with the result.
  • Select only the subjects and papers you want to see.
  • Download and keep the acknowledgement and receipt.

Verification and revaluation

Two different requests. Pick the one that matches what you found in the photocopy.

Verification

Re-totalling. Checks that every answer was counted and the marks were added and entered correctly.

Revaluation

A fresh assessment of the answer book by other examiners, for when you believe answers were under-marked.

Rules to know

Four things that catch students out

  • Theory papers only

Revaluation covers theory answer books. Practical, clinical, viva and internal marks are generally not revalued.

  • Short, fixed windows

Late applications are usually not accepted, so apply as soon as you decide. Do not wait for the last day.

  • Fees are per subject

Each paper has its own fee, set in the circular for that session. Amounts have changed over the years, so check the current one.

  • One chance per paper

Revaluation is normally a one-time option for each subject in a session. Make your request count.

Supplementary exams

A second attempt, a few months later

If you did not clear a subject, MUHS holds supplementary exams, usually a few months after the result. The exam form, dates and fees come through your college and the university website.

  1. Fill the exam form on time

Your college exam section shares the form and the last date. Missing it means waiting for the next session.

  2. Keep studying during revaluation

A revised result can arrive close to the exam. Prepare as if the original mark stands.

  3. Check the right session on result day

Supplementary results appear under the session in which you wrote the exam, not your original one.

Questions

Revaluation, answered

For anything specific to your paper, the circular and your college exam section are the final word.

MUHS university website
Do I need a photocopy before applying for revaluation?

In the usual MUHS process you first obtain the photocopy of your answer book, then decide whether to apply for verification or revaluation of that subject. Follow the order given in the circular for your session.

Can my marks go down after revaluation?

Revaluation is a fresh assessment of the answer book, so the rules in the circular decide whether a changed score replaces the original. Read that section of the circular carefully before you apply.

Should I prepare for the supplementary exam while revaluation is pending?

Yes. Revaluation results can arrive close to the supplementary exam dates, so keep studying for the subject until your revised result is declared.

Where do I pay the fees?

Fees are paid online through the MUHS student services portal or through your college, as the circular for that session describes. Keep the payment receipt and acknowledgement until your revised result is out.

Check your marks before the window opens

Open your result on the official portal, note any subject you want to review, and keep your hall ticket ready for the application.

  • Your seat number is printed on the hall ticket for that exam session.
  • We never ask for your seat number. You enter it only on the official MUHS page.
